Thoughtful Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas with FREE Printables

Teacher appreciation gift ideas and FREE teacher appreciation printables

It’s time to shine a light on teachers. Towards the end of the year, the time comes to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week! Parents, guardians, and teachers find themselves searching for the best teacher appreciation gift ideas to show their kids’ educators (or their teacher besties!) how much they care.

Of course, we should be celebrating our teachers throughout the year but there’s nothing wrong with having a few days dedicated to singing their praises and showering them with gifts of gratitude.

While gift cards will always be a winner, there are times you may want to try something a bit different or update the presentation. And when it comes to gifts from students, something more heartfelt with a sweet, personal touch may be the way to go.

These teacher appreciation gift ideas will leave the teachers in your life feeling all the feels and all the love, too. Especially the FREEBIE teacher appreciation printables for students, which you’ll have access to below!

But first, let’s take a look at this creative teacher gift idea AKA The Teacher Tumbler!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas

Nothing says, “You’re the best!”, like a cool, new tumbler. Amiright?!?

Tumblers are a staple for teachers. They keep their favorite beverages at hand throughout the school day. Especially since they can’t just jot off to grab whatever they need at any given moment.

So, for this teacher appreciation gift, the tumbler becomes the support for all of the other fun fillers.

Here’s everything you need to build this Teacher Tumbler.

{Amazon affiliate links have been used below but I only share things I actually love and enjoy!}

I’ve compiled the full list of supplies on my Amazon storefront but here’s the list individually as well.

When I saw this Amazon gift card with the flower envelope, I just had to grab it. The flowers add a unique component to the tumbler and a way to give teachers their “flowers” in a different, kid-friendly way!

I started by filling the inside of the tumbler with mints to work as a base for all of the other fun fillings. And since teachers have a limited time to eat during the school day, mints and gum are absolutely necessary to curb hunger!

Instead of just placing the other goodies inside, I thought it would be a cool idea to put them on display!

I took the teacher stickers, gum, and the Amazon gift card and stuck them to sticks that I could place inside the cups. You can use tape or glue to hold the gum and gift card holder in place.

I placed the sticks inside the cup between pieces of mint to hold them in place. I opted for longer sticks so they would stick out above the rim of the cup. You can use lollipop sticks, wood skewers, etc., whatever works best for you.

The cool thing about the vinyl stickers is teachers can use them to decorate their tumblers, too! If you want, you can add a few extras at the bottom of the cup for them to use for that purpose.

To fill in the open spaces, I used some leftover “grass” or paper shreds from this past year’s Easter Baskets and it worked out perfectly.

The final result was better than I expected!

The stickers, gum, and gift card look so festive and celebratory hanging out of the cup. I can’t wait to send these off with my kids to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with their teachers!

This is an updated version of a similar and simple teacher appreciation gift idea from last year that I created with a FREE gift tag.

While the other one is more generic and can be used for many professions, I wanted to keep this gift all about teachers! Though, I’m sure if you switched out the stickers it could totally still work for whatever you need.

Speaking of which, here’s another great way to shine a spotlight on your favorite educator with students leading the way!

Student-Teacher Survey

After creating these Teacher Tumblers I had a bright idea. It would be amazing if kids could create a more personal gift to share with their teachers.

Something that showed teachers how much their students care about them and actually pay attention to them in class (even when it doesn’t seem like it, ha!)

That’s when I had a light bulb moment. An “all about” survey for teachers but completed by their students!

teacher appreciation letters and surveys for students

Students can brag about their teachers by sharing all they’ve learned about who their teachers are! Inside this FREE teacher gift from students, there are 3 engaging writing templates.

There are two versions of a fun survey for students to describe the things their teacher loves and what they love or appreciate about them, too.

You’ll also find a blank writing page for students to write their own heartfelt teacher appreciation letter celebrating any special teacher in their life.

Use one or use them all, you really can’t go wrong with these gifts for teacher appreciation. But the most important thing to remember is that the best way to show teachers they are appreciated is with kindness, compassion, and respect.
