Review Booklet

Here’s my plan… review skills through station work as much as possible while I still have my kiddos…  Target guided reading instruction to make it as meaningful as can be, and send my kiddos home with summer review booklets!
I will get two uses out of THESE booklets…
1.  We will use a portion of it at the end of 2nd grade DURING school.
2.  I will send home the other portion to be done DURING the summer.
Can I force my kiddos to complete it when they are away from me?  No!  But, I can do a lot of encouraging and offer some incentives for those that bring it to me when they make it to 3rd grade!  I’m hoping that the silly glasses and bright pencil will help it seem fun :))
I love that this booklet is formatted as half-pages… it saves a lot of paper, especially when you copy it 2-sided!

The Review Booklet includes activities for Reading, Grammar, and Math.  It doesn’t cover every little thing that we did throughout the year, but I did try to focus on the important skills.  And in my opinion, any extra practice will help!

  1. I really enjoy following your blog as I also teach 2nd grade. I love the review packet to send with the students to work on over the summer. Great idea!! Thanks

  2. I'd love to purchase the Chevron kit but am wondering if I can get the alphabet labels that you use for your alphabet? I noticed it's not in the kit. I'm moving to 2nd grade next year and would love to have the kids make their own alphabet as well. Please let me know before the sell ends!!!

  3. I had your review booklet on my wishlist the minute it came out! Now having it on sale is exactly what I need! Take time to enjoy the little moments as things get crazy. Even finding one or two small things each day to be thankful for and cherish makes a big difference when the craziness sets in! ~ Lisa

  4. I hope you come out with one for First Grade before the end of May. I am definitely going to be watching out for it! Hang in there . . . You know the old saying . . . When life send you Lemons . . . . . 😉

  5. I love the idea of having an incentive when they bring it back to you at the start of their new school year! Mostly because it's so encouraging to have them come back and visit you during the beginning of the year! I'll have to come up with something now…thanks dearie!
I also LOVE seeing pics of you and your sweet girl! It brings a smile to my face EVERY time I see her big 'ole smile!
    You are a blessing!

  6. I love all your ideas. So many of them are hands on and not just paper pencil. That is probably why I just sent so much on the TPT sale and will probably spend more yet. haha
