It’s time for another read aloud with Joelle! This week she is sharing the story “I Don’t Want to be a Frog” by Dev Petty. We’ve also got a follow-up activity to go along with it.

Here is a fun activity that students can complete to go along with the read aloud. Students pretend they are the main character. They choose the animal that they would rather be than a frog. Students draw a picture of that animal and write about it. Here you can see that this can be completed in SEESAW. Or, you can grab the PDF by clicking HERE!

Now let’s look at some activities that can be done in the classroom to go along with this story.
After reading the story, students create the frog from the book. Students write about the story.
Kids LOVE learning about frogs! Students read a nonfiction text about frogs. Then they choose three types of frogs to write information about.
