Description
Are you looking for a fun activity to use when teaching about fractions OR telling time around Easter?! In this activity students create an Easter Egg Basket to display their knowledge of fractions and/or telling time.. The best part? This printable activity has many different options to choose from!
Here’s what is included:
- Option 1: Easter Egg Basket has fractions that are already shaded in. Students identify the fraction that represents the shaded portion (halves, fourths, eighths or halves, thirds, fourths). This is a cut and paste project where students put the entire activity together on their own.
- Option 2: Easter Egg Basket has fractions that are partitioned, but not shaded. This gives students the opportunity to make their fraction Easter basket unique! Students shade their partitioned shapes. Students identify the fraction that represents the shaded portion that they colored. This is a cut and paste project where students put the entire activity together on their own.
- Comparing Fractions Option: For both of the versions above, there is a recording sheet that allows students to compare two sets of fractions. (There are also recording sheets without this option).
- Fraction Types: halves, fourths, eighths OR halves, thirds, fourths
- Option 3: Easter Egg Basket has eggs that show analog clocks. There are 5 sets of clocks to choose from: time to the hour, time to the hour and half hour, time to the quarter hour, time to the five minutes, or blank clocks. Students identify the time shown on the analog clock. Students write the time shown.
- Elapsed Time Option: For the telling time option above, there is a recording sheet that allows students to practice elapsed time. Students identify the time, then students show what the time will be in either one hour or the half hour.
- Telling Time Options: time to the hour, time to the half hour, time to the quarter hour, time to the five minutes
