Bulletin board too small for the letters? Change o Bulletin board too small for the letters? Change one number. 🍎

Instead of printing our apple banner letters full-size for our home library, I dropped the scale percentage in my print settings. Same file, same letters, one different number before you hit print.

Perfect for a small wall — or for fitting two displays on one board.

Comment BUSHEL, and I'll send you my apple roundup, banner included. 🍎
Ever wondered how teachers get those big anchor ch Ever wondered how teachers get those big anchor charts up on their walls? 👀

Here's the hack: Canva plus a banner print.

I downloaded a few of our newest apple anchor charts, dropped them into a banner template in Canva, then had the whole thing printed as one big banner at Walgreens and cut it into individual posters.

Teacher tip — there's almost always a discount code floating around for banner prints, so check before you order.

Comment POSTER and I'll send you the link to these exact ones. 🍎
From blank wall to a bushel of bright ideas 🍎 Sep From blank wall to a bushel of bright ideas 🍎

September is here, so that means one thing. Apple season is in full effect! And I'm not talking about eating them or picking them — I'm talking apple themed EVERYTHING inside the classroom.

This board is just where I started. The letters, the borders, the apple pieces, the anchor charts? Already made. But there's even more where it came from.

📍Comment BUSHEL and I'll send you my whole apple roundup — reading, math, science, snacks, decor, and a few freebies, all in one place. 🍎
Not saying I'm an expert, but I've got a pretty go Not saying I'm an expert, but I've got a pretty good system going. Staple, smooth, staple, smooth — the smoothing is what keeps you from getting to the last corner and realizing the whole thing is full of bubbles. Doing all my prep now because I've got something going up on this board later this week 👀

What's your bulletin board paper trick?
Turn and talk isn't something students just know t Turn and talk isn't something students just know to do. It's a routine you teach.

And once you teach it, those 60 seconds stop being a break in the lesson. Students aren't just talking — they're thinking, listening, explaining, responding, and learning from each other.

Same partner conversation. Completely different payoff.

We've put together free Conversation Stem posters so your expectations stay on the wall after you've taught them, plus a full walkthrough of how to build the routine from day one.

Comment CONVERSE and I'll send you both.
Turn and talk sounds simple. Ask a question, let t Turn and talk sounds simple. Ask a question, let them talk to a partner, keep moving.

But it's a skill, not a strategy you hand over. Kids need to see what active listening, speaking up, waiting a turn, and disagreeing respectfully actually look like before they can do it with a partner.

Swipe through for 5 books that give your students anchor stories for all four.

Getting startled by a falling water bottle was not Getting startled by a falling water bottle was not on my bingo card when I started subbing. 😅

Let's just say I understand the appeal of a designated water bottle spot.

Three simple systems that just make sense:

💧 The Hydration Station gives every water bottle a home
🎫 The hallway passes tell you where a student went the second you glance at their empty seat
✨ The Affirmation Station keeps encouragement in front of students while you teach

None of them need a complicated plan. All of them are things your students can run on their own.

Comment STATION and I'll send you all three 👇
