Christmas with my GNOMIES

Let’s celebrate Christmas a little early with a gift from me to you! Today I want to share a free activity that you can use with your students before or after Christmas break.

Last week a sweet teacher reached out and asked me if I had a directed drawing of a gnome. I didn’t have one on hand but thought it was a great idea. I actually had a few minutes of spare time (which doesn’t happen often), so I put together the gnome drawing for her students. Then I thought, why don’t I share it with all my other teacher friends?!

If you are looking for a new read-aloud and something to pair with the gnome drawing, I have the perfect picture book for you. I’m a Gnome is a funny book where the gnome is trying to prove that he is different from all of the other magical forest creatures. You’ll want to use a lot of expression when reading this story to make it extra fun!

This story is being told by the gnome, so can also be used to discuss first person point of view. It also is not holiday-themed, so you can use it at any point throughout the year.
