I feel like I say this every single month, but I just love November! Surely the temps here in Texas will start to cool down once November comes… right?! Who am I kidding?! It’s 45 degrees and only October 16th! But, we all know that won’t last! Let’s also just celebrate the fact that Thanksgiving is around the corner… providing all you wonderful teachers with a fabulous few days of rest. Can I get an amen??!!
Okay, now that I’ve had my moment, let’s get back to the reason why I am here! I’ve got an announcement and a FREEBIE for you! We heard such a great response from the Owl Freebie in October that I wanted to keep the fun going!
First of all, Rooted in Reading for NOVEMBER is ready for all our first grade teachers out there! Let’s take a peek at that!
The Scarecrow’s Hat is a wonderful book about a chicken who goes from friend to friend trading items until she finally gets the scarecrow’s hat. You’ll have to read to see what she uses it for!
Amazing Grace is one of our all-time favorite books. We love the lesson that students will learn from this story.
If you haven’t read Maddi’s Fridge… you must! It is the PERFECT book to talk about helping others in need. The way the author delivers the message is just-right for kids!
And we all need a FUN turkey book for November! A Plump and Perky Turkey is about a turkey that puts himself in harm’s way, but ultimately gets away!
Speaking of turkeys, here is where my FREEBIE comes in! Have you ever done a Turkey in Disguise project with your class? We know how much teachers love this project in November, so we wanted to gift it to you!
