Have you ever read Harrison P. Spader, Personal Space Invader by Christianne Jones? This is a fun read aloud, but it also teaches a very important lesson about personal space. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’m constantly having to remind my children to just BACK UP A LITTLE ALREADY!
Well, I decided to get my kiddos REALLY involved in this book by becoming the teachers! That’s right. They are going to read the book TO your kiddos AND teach them how to draw Harrison! They also helped create a Problem and Solution activity for your students.

Let’s Draw Harrison!
They just loved Harrison to pieces… probably because they are 100% personal space invaders too, ha!
In the video, the kids will teach you how to draw Harrison. I just love how theirs turned out!
Use with SEESAW
We’ve also made it to where you can use these activities with SEESAW. You’ll find those details in the document. Here’s a look at how Israel drew Harrison using the app:
I took a screenshot of Joelle’s work on the app. It was just too cute not to share!
Reading Response Activity
Your students can also write about the problem and solution from the story. This can definitely be used with multiple grade levels. Here’s a look at Israel’s work. He’s in 1st grade.
Joelle is in 5th grade and she completed it too. It was definitely under her learning level, but she still had fun working on it!

Thank you so much for this great activity! Your kids are adorable! I tried to save the activity in Seesaw (It is my main learning platform) and it won’t save. When I search for the activity in the community it doesn’t come. I know you are busy but any help would be so appreciated 🙂
Make sure that you are not logged in under “community.” It needs to be under “My Activities.” Sometimes logging out and logging back in helps to get it pulled up
