We’ve been celebrating fall in my neck of the woods lately! Our temperatures have been bearable for the first time in about 5 months, now that’s something to talk about! I actually had a student tell me they were “cold” at recess. It’s pretty sad when 84 degrees is cold to you, ha!
I am using Anna Brantley’s Narrative Writing Unit, and I am in love, y’all! It may say that it’s for 1st grade, but my 2nd graders are benefiting from it in a BIG way! Today, I paired one of her writing prompts with my little leaf craft that’s in my Fall centers pack. They definitely helped spruce up our hallway 🙂
What I loved about this little craft is that it took very little time. There are only 4 pieces to cut out, so within about 10-15 minutes, we were done putting them together 🙂
I think I’ve told y’all before how I’m not the biggest fan of centers. Well, I am jumping on the center bandwagon now because my kids are rockin’ and rollin’ during this time of the day now! I will say that the more prepared I am with having materials made, the more successful our center time is!!! I have officially moved our 30 minute center time to 3 different parts of the day. I tried first thing in the morning, but let’s face it… I’m a grump in the early hours. Then, I tried at the very end of the day, and we all know that kids can turn into monsters at that point in the day. So, now I have them right before recess, and that has helped tremendously! I think I’ll stick with it 😉
Seeing them engaged in the activities makes my heart happy 🙂
