Hope and I know that a lot of 2nd grade teachers will be tackling addition and subtraction fluency during the first part of their school year. We put together some resources that will help make it fun and exciting for your kiddos!
First up: Strategy Bracelets {Did I mention these are FREE??}!
These are super easy to print and prep. Students can solve the problems or leave them blank for “flashcard” type of practice. Then they just tape or glue them around their wrist!
I mean, I know she’s my daughter, but she sure is a cute model!!!
Sidenote… we had been swimming that morning. She had her swimsuit on and tangled hair. I said, “Let’s brush the front, put on a bow, and grab a sweater!” Ha! There are several bracelets included in this FREEBIE. Just click HERE to download!
If you are looking for some quick and easy fact fluency games to be used as Early Finisher activities, you can grab these simple printables HERE.
Our Magic of Math Unit 2 for Second Grade focuses on strategies for students to learn their addition and subtraction facts. The activities are fun, engaging, and interactive.
Let’s face it… our kids have to buy into what we are trying to teach them. Worksheets will NOT cut it. We’ve got to get them invested in their education. It’s time to get our kiddos excited about coming to school every single day.
Last year I really struggled with teaching double digit addition and subtraction based on place value and mental math strategies. Well, Magic of Math takes all the struggles away! We give you the resources you need so that you will feel comfortable teaching in a new way, but also the lessons that will make it interactive for your students!
Don’t forget. We include daily lesson plans, word problems, minilessons, activities, and interactive notebook entries for an entire month! Plus I Can Statements, Vocabulary Cards, Assessments, and more! Click HERE to check out Unit 2!
We also have something else in the works! In the next week or so we will be releasing a way to keep track of fact fluency. Be on the lookout for that :))) It will have fluency assessments, bulletin board displays (several options), a way to track the data, flashcards, and more!
