Are you looking towards next year and feeling confused and overwhelmed?! I would definitely say you are not alone! With all of the talk about traditional school, virtual school, hybrid school my head is spinning.
No matter what happens in the fall, utilizing digital activities can be very beneficial. You save paper (which also saves you time copying/cutting/prepping). Your students still get the practice they need to master concepts, but they do it in an engaging and interactive way.
With that being said, I want to show you some of the activities Israel has been working on to get him ready for 2nd grade. We are mostly working on fact fluency (we use Reflex) and place value/number knowledge.
Compare and Order 2 Digit Numbers
I want Israel to be ready to tackle 2nd grade math whether he is doing that at home or at school, so we have been reviewing 1st grade place value skills.
Most recently we have worked on comparing and ordering 2 digit numbers. In the activity shown below he is ordering the numbers to make a caterpillar.
I think this next activity was his favorite. He put the sharks in order from least to greatest by moving them to the ocean. Then, using the greatest number, he determined if the number was even or odd, found the tens, and identified the expanded form.

Compare and Order 3 Digit Numbers
Once we tackle 2-digit numbers we will move on to 3-digit numbers. These activities can be done as a station, independent activity, early finisher, etc. Each one can be used in Seesaw, Google Slides, or PowerPoint.

This is fabulous! I am moving to 1st grade in the fall…do you happen to have an easier version for younger kids?
Amy thank you for continuing to create math activities for Seesaw addressing 2nd standards! As soon as you announce one I gobble it up! It’s in my cart as I write this. You truly have a gift and thank you for sharing it. Also thank you for the tidbit about Reflex. I’ll be checking that out too!
You are so very welcome!
