Top 10 Books for Upper Elementary Kids

Ten Novels for Upper Elementary Students

Summer reading challenges will either make or break kids. I mean I COMPLETELY understand because sometimes kids just want to flail around and do whatever they want. Anything other than reading. I am extremely blessed to have children that really do enjoy reading. And one way I encourage them is by allowing them to choose books that interest them while also giving them a variety to choose from! If youโ€™re struggling with getting your kids to read more, you can check out THIS post for some helpful tips! But thatโ€™s not why Iโ€™m here today. Instead, I want to share with you books that my 4th grader LOVES to read. These books are perfect for upper elementary kids!

My hope is that if you have a kid at home who needs some motivation, this list will help! Especially if the recommendations are coming straight from one of their peers. Because, honestly, kids would much rather listen to a friend than a parent, ha! Iโ€™ve included a link to each book below!

Hereโ€™s Israel with all of his faves! These books were completely chosen by him. And he has read every one of them. Each book is relatable and fun from adolescent adventures to mysterious creatures, there is something I am sure your kiddo will enjoy. As always, I encourage you to check out the summaries and reviews for each of the books to ensure it aligns with your family’s reading goals.
