We are officially half way through the week! Just want to share a few things with y’all before I head out to church!
Today, we reviewed verbs and adverbs with this little flap-book from my “Swimmin’ into Summer” unit. Adverbs are still a little tricky for my kiddos, but they’ve gotten a lot better at using them correctly! Under each flap, they sorted words.
Last week we completed a novel unit over “The Chalk Box Kid.” We didn’t really do anything fancy while reading the chapter book, but we did do these writing prompts after we finished the book.
They used the writing stem, “If I found an abandoned chalk factory, I would…” Then, they drew a little picture using chalk. Which turned out to be a little more dramatic than I had expected. I kept hearing, “I think I’m allergic to chalk” “I feel chalk in my lungs” “My stomach hurts from all this chalk” Ohmiword… really?! ha!
