Pot of Gold Fraction Activity for St. Patrick’s Day

$3.00

Description

Are you looking for a fun activity to use when teaching about fractions around St. Patrick’s Day?! In this activity students create a pot of gold with fraction gold pieces to display their knowledge of fractions. The best part? This printable activity has many different options to choose from!

Here’s what is included:

  • Option 1: Pot of Gold has fractions that are already shaded in. Students identify the fraction that represents the shaded portion (halves, fourths, eighths or halves, thirds, and fourths). This option has a preassembled version where students do not need to cut and glue. It also has a cut and paste option where students put the entire activity together on their own.
  • Option 2: Pot of Gold has fractions that are partitioned, but not shaded. This gives students the opportunity to make their fraction Pot of Gold unique! Students shade their partitioned shapes. Students identify the fraction that represents the shaded portion that they colored. This option has a preassembled version where students do not need to cut and glue. It also has a cut and paste option where students put the entire activity together on their own.
  • Comparing Fractions Option: For both of the versions above, there is a recording sheet that allows students to compare two sets of fractions. (There are also recording sheets without this option).
  • Fraction Types: halves, fourths, eighths OR halves, thirds, fourths
