Happy Back to School, friends! I wanted to pop in REAL QUICK and show you how I set up for my family’s first day back! Each year I like to do something special… either on the breakfast table or on the mantle to celebrate heading back to school. I want for my kiddos to know that we LOVE school and that we CELEBRATE education! I thought I’d show you what I did this year because it was so simple.
The only things I bought were the apple and tassel banner from Target. The other things I had around the house. First, I anchored it with a large chalkboard that we keep in the playroom. Then I added layers of banners. I used Mel’s Pencil banner that you can find HERE. Next, I taped up the tassel banner from Target. I finished it off with the apple banner from the Target Dollar Spot (or whatever it’s called now!). Next up was a few school-themed books that we had in our home library. I added the inflatable dice (and used tape to stick them together and to the wall). Finally, I placed the metal letters that can be found at Hobby Lobby. Mine are from Kroger, but Hobby Lobby would have more options! And that’s that!
My kiddos were excited to see how it all came together 🙂 They always think I’m throwing a party when I do stuff like this around the house, ha! It really only took about twenty minutes to throw it all up there, so it wasn’t bad at all!
I wasn’t super thrilled with the lighting inside (even though I spent time putting up a photo spot INSIDE), so we stepped outside to take a few pictures. This year I decided to go with letter boards (Amazon Aff Link) for their Back to School photo props. I actually LOVE how they turned out. The boards came as a two pack, so it was perfect for today!
And that’s how we celebrate the First Day of School! You can read more about our morning on my personal blog HERE!

It’s been awhile since I visited your blog and I deleted my Instagram account, so I haven’t seen photos of your kids for awhile. They’re so BIG! Happy back-to-school time. I go back Monday. Blessings.
