Y’all. This is what it’s all about. “Look at that. People don’t even know I’m wearing sunscreen.” Have you ever stopped to think about how even sunscreen is tailored for light skin? I’ve tried probably 15 brands in the past 7 years on my kids and the majority leave them purple-faced. I have never once seen a sunscreen in store that was made for their skin. When I saw @babblingabby share @blackgirlsunscreen I instantly ordered some. We were AMAZED. And we didn’t even practice for this video. His reaction was 100% authentic. Thankful we can protect their skin without ruining their confidence 🧡

Over the past 5 years I have been working to diver

Over the past 5 years I have been working to diversify our library. I wish I could say this is something I thought about long before 2015. It didn’t happen overnight {although amazon does make that possible 🤪}. It took time. It took money. It took intentionality. If your book selection isn’t diverse yet, don’t let it paralyze you. Let it motivate you. Reach out to your Facebook friends, hit up yard sales, visit thrift shops, create a Donor’s Choose project, make an amazon wish list. It’s not too late to begin building a classroom library that reflects our beautiful, colorful world. 💛 #picturebooks #picturebooksofinstagram #library #representationmatters

Oh this guy. I’ll never forget when we walked in

Oh this guy. I’ll never forget when we walked into the Embassy in the Congo for the first time. The person at the window had everyone from the back come forward to meet Jared in person. He had called HUNDREDS of times trying to get answers, speed up the process, and make things happen. They wanted to see the face that went with the voice they had heard so often. 🤣 Jared would wake up in the middle of the night to call as soon as the embassy opened for the day. Then he would call again. And again. And again. And he did that day after day until they finally told us everything was completed. The way Jared loves is not just to say it. It’s to show it. If there’s anything we need or want, he will find a way to make it happen. If there isn’t a way, he will pave the path. God knew exactly what we needed when He gave us @jared_lemons ❤️ We are so grateful for his love, loyalty, and laughs. Happy Papa’s Day to the best out there ❤️

These little treasures in my closet remind me to keep pushing on. They remind me of how BIG love can be. They remind me to focus on the people that matter the most. They also cover lots of electrical things, but that’s beside the point 🤪

We have found so many wonderful picture books this summer... and I’m sure it’s all because of seeing them on Instagram, ha! I just can’t remember where I started before going down the rabbit hole 🤣.
